Madden NFL 21 Hurdle Guide

Hurdling is a fun trick to have in your bag for the Madden 21 running game. It allows you to jump over a defender coming at you. It won’t always work, but when it does, it’s a thing of beauty. Knowing how to hurdle in Madden 21 is a bit tricky but no less important. Although it's one of the game's lesser-used moves, it deserves to be a bigger part of every player's playbook.

How to Hurdle in Madden 21?

As far as controls go, hurdling in Madden 21 is relatively simple. When you control a player on offense who has the ball (running back, wide receiver, tight end), press Y/Triangle to perform a hurdle. If you press the left stick either left or right when pressing Y/Triangle, you can also perform a ‘jurdle.’

A jurdle is a hybrid between juke and hurdle. You won’t jump as high, but it will allow you to better evade defenders, as the change of direction can give opposing players fits. However, this must be timed right as hurdling too early or too late could mean an instant down for your offense.

The best time to use a hurdle is at the goal line. A specific animation comes with a run up the middle for a hurdling player where he fights to get over the pile and score. It's not a traditional-looking hurdle, but it's still activated with "Y" (XB1) or "Triangle" (PS4). It can be super helpful in those tense goal-line situations.

Another great use of the hurdle is when a player is one on one with a defender coming straight at them. While something like a stiff arm is good for moving players off your sides, a head-on showdown with a defender is a great time to utilize the hurdle, especially if they're known to hit-stick you with a low tackle. They'll go under you like a boat under a bridge, and you'll continue upright to make a big play even bigger.

Unlike other skill moves, the hurdle doesn't have its own assigned skill in a player's attributes, but it stands to reason that a player's jumping ability affects their hurdling ability too.

Below are the 10 offensive players with the highest jump skill:

    DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Cardinals (99)
    Mike Evans, WR, Buccaneers, (97)
    Julio Jones, WR, Falcons (97)
Odell Beckham Jr, WR, Browns (96)
    A.J. Green, WR, Bengals, (96)
Allen Robinson II, WR, Bears, (95)
    DeVante Parker, WR, Rams (95)
    Ezekiel Elliot, RB, Cowboys (95)
    Saquon Barkley, RB, Giants (94)
    D.J. Moore, WR, Panthers (94)

Knowing hurdling is only part of the formula for success in Madden 21. Now that you know how to hurdle, you'll be breaking off long runs and easy scores in no time. So in this guide, we bring some useful tips to help you control this popular game mode. 1. Begin Small While it may be tempting to begin your career with your ideal club, it’s not the best course because there will be far more expectations for trophy success at these storied organizations than at mid-table teams. For example, the domestic & continental success are expected critically in a club like FC Barcelona, so managing such as club could be tough while their financial resources are low. And you might be fired if you unavoidably cannot meet these demands because of a lack of expertise! Our suggestion is to begin modestly. When you are getting the hang of Ma...

Simple And Effective Skill Moves In FIFA 23

Skills are a crucial part of FIFA 23 and can make a big difference against the best players. Using these skill moves effectively can be the difference between creating a big chance and giving up possession cheaply. There are plenty of skill moves to choose from in the game, so we will show you three simple but effective special moves. The Drag Back, a two-star skill move A drag back is a skill move that allows you to change direction quickly. In football, it is sometimes referred to as the Cruyff turn, named after the legendary Dutch player Johann Cruyff who made the famous move back in the 1990s. Successfully pulling one off will see your player change direction 180 degrees and put space between them and the defender, which means you can then put in a cross or take a shot. To drag back in FIFA 23, you need to hold both R1 and L1 on PS (LB and RB on Xbox) while moving the left stick in the opposite direction to where your player with the ball is moving. This flexibility makes the speci...
