Madden NFL 21 Basic Offense Guide

Madden NFL 21 Basic Offense Guide

In Madden 21, the offensive is the most enjoyable aspect of playing football to many Madden players. It takes some know-how to execute plays out of your team's versatile playbook on offense because you set the pace by exploiting the weaknesses of the defense. So here, try to give you some guidance so no matter what team you're playing as you have a general idea of just what to do next.

Run or Pass

The Madden NFL engine historically favors passing, much like the real-life NFL. That's not to say you should never call a running play, however, both are useful when used correctly. Let's assume that your team's running game and passing game are roughly equal in terms of overall ability and success. The basic theory of which type of play to choose is related to three questions: what down is it, how far is it to get a first down, and what's the score.

Current Down

Running plays are far better to choose in early downs, mostly because they're much safer to run. Because your QB is handing the ball directly to your running backs, there's no chance for a turnover unless your runner's fingers are made of butter. However, because you probably won't get more than 3 to 5 yards per run, you'll need to pass if the down count is getting too high.

Yardage To Go

If you ever need more than 10 yards, you'll need to pass. Passing will often get you worlds more yardage than runs, although throwing too deep too early will increase the risk of something going wrong and you giving up an early lead. Just remember that you do not need to get a touchdown on every pass. Even if you a lot of yards to go, a short pass that gains a few yards is better than risking an incompletion or interception by throwing the ball 60 yards downfield for no reason.

Score

If you're leading, especially late in the game, don't bother with passing plays or trick plays. After all, there's no reason to risk throwing an interception or a fumble to get a few extra points: your goal at that point is to eat up as much time as possible. If you're behind, you'll want to go deep since that may be your only chance to get away with a win.

Know Yourself

By far, the most important determining factor for your team's play selection is its own composition. If you have an all-star running back, run more; if you have a quarterback with a rocket arm and receivers with sticky hands, pass more. If you're playing online and tend to stick to the same team, you should be very familiar with all your players and their capabilities.

Not only is your team's strength important to consider, but your opponent's strength is as well. No matter what, always lightly scout the opponent if you can, and always thoroughly scout yourself before games.

No-Huddle Offense

No-Huddle Offense has other uses than the end game. The defense gets tired faster than the offense, and by continually hurrying the play, you can make them tire out quickly. This will lead to them being at quite a disadvantage by the time you get to their Red Zone. This also disrupts the game's tempo if you start it during the second or third quarter, and you can severely throw off a human opponent at the same time. It's a good tactic to get an early score, and then you can settle back down and normally play from then on.

Don't Be Afraid of Change

Your best weapon here is your own brain. You need to know what your common tactics are and when those tactics are failing. Once you recognize the problem, change it somehow, no matter how subtle the change is. You might be surprised to find a different hole in the defense. And besides, if the defense is consistently beating you with a given play, they'll rely on their normal tactics, which you'll eventually be able to exploit. If nothing else, try calling similar plays in different formations, and you'll at least throw your opponent for a loop.

Top Gameplay Tips To Know In Madden NFL 21

Madden 21are still going strong. If you're ready to take the gridiron and start slinging the ball around, here are some tips you should know to properly play the game right now. You will mostly focus on the concept rather than full-on breakdowns. Our best recommendation is to hop into Practice or Skills Trainer mode to hone these skills. Now, let's dive in. 1. Overall Gameplay 1). Don't Keep Sprint When you're a player, it's second nature to jam the R2 sprint button at all times, but the most recent versions of Madden put greater importance on patience. With running backs, sprinting makes it easier to run into defensive players and to do so on defense makes it easier to miss tackles. 2). Use All Of The Controls Just like how quarterbacks can throw the ball any number of ways (bullet, lob, leading passes) and the defensive players can attack a ball (swat or intercept), use all of these controls. Don't just go for the splashy play. 3). Balance Your Playcalling T...
