Madden 21: New SpongeBob-Themed Modes Joins The Yard

Madden 21 now has a SpongeBob SquarePants-themed field so you can live out your dreams of playing football in a virtual Bikini Bottom. New SpongeBob-themed modes are now available in Madden 21's The Yard. This content includes three new game modes as well as a new location, SpongeBob Reef-Top, and SpongeBob-inspired gear for you to collect.

Here's a rundown of everything:

New Modes:

The SpongeBob content will feature three new modes: The Flying Dutchman's Ghostly Grab, Sandy's Rocket Arm Rally, and The Goo Lagoon Bowl.

In The Flying Dutchman's Ghostly Grab, players will be able to jump higher, making impressive catches. Long touchdowns also result in bonus points. In Sandy's Rocket Arm Rally, players will be able to throw passes 80 yards and longer. Last but not least, The Goo Lagoon Bowl has players moving in slow motion.

New Location: Reef-Top

All of the new modes are playable at a new venue, Reef-Top. This arena is set in an underwater city featuring famous SpongeBob venues like the Krusty Krab and SpongeBob and Squidward's homes. A giant SpongeBob balloon flies in the distance, while a Nickelodeon blimp can also be seen overhead.

New Gear

In addition to the new venue and modes, EA and Nickelodeon are bringing SpongeBob-themed gear to The Yard for you to collect. As you can see in the image, this gear includes a variety of yellow and blue wares to deck out your player, including gloves, shorts, an arm sleeve, and more.
